Ask Jack: If I Purchase Macs, Do I Really Lower My Cyber Exposure?

By Jack McCalmon, The McCalmon Group, Inc.

We need to buy some new equipment. If I buy Macs, will I lower my risk?

Cybercriminals write malware for the operating systems most people use and that is Windows. That does not mean malware does not exist for a Mac, but PC Windows is targeted more.

And, using a Mac does not make you immune to risk. Recently, a report was published that certain apps on the Mac App Store were distributing malware.

My takeaway is that OS lowers your risk, but, in no way would I let my guard down. Always be cautious, Macs or not.
